My granddaughter, Mairead, was part of a group of 6 7th grade students who made up a team called the Toy Squad. They invented a water toy, became national finalists, and ended up taking the runner-up spot in their category. What follows are the TV spots and the small video that was made to demonstrate their invention for the judges. It was a great experience and has led to a wonderful relationship with the Smith College engineering school.

Thank you Grandma!
You are very welcome!
That is amazing! What a great project! This is something that would make a great Intel unit. Think of all the self direction, collaboration, communication, social skills, technology, math and engineering. Then all the real life skills of writing up the invention for a patent application. Wow. Next year's unit plan!! Thanks for sharing the great video on your blog. Can you tell us what process you used for capturing and uploading the different videos?
